A 5-star rating for great staff, central & quiet location in historic district and enjoyable wine & appetizer social hour. Everything was cooked at the B&B, and not something frozen and then zapped in a microwave. Also enjoyed the wine & appetizers social hour since it gave us the opportunity to meet other guests. Overall, a very nice place in a great location and a staff who made us want to return." Wonderful stay in a classic home on a historic street. There is an excellent choice of items for breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres, wine, dessert, and port are included!

The Lindsey Room is located on the third floor of the Main House. Warm colors and comfortable seating make this room one of our most popular in the house. In response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), additional safety and sanitation measures are in effect at this property. Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.8 for a two-person trip. Beautiful street - one of the most beautiful streets in the U.S. It doesn't take long to figure out why this is the best B & B in Savannah.
Eliza Thompson House, Historic Inns of Savannah

A place with one star is worth a look—after all, it made the list. A rating of two stars means it's excellent, and three stars is the highest praise we give. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Built in 1847, the Eliza Thompson House is the oldest Inn in the Historic Inns of Savannah Collection. The home was the first house built on Jones Street, and was home to Eliza & Joseph Thompson and their 7 children. It now tops the charts as one of Savannah's most popular hotels, and was voted one of the most romantic inns in the U.S. Had a great time in Savannah and stayed for four nights at the ET house. The inn has 12 rooms in a "Main House" and 13 rooms adjacent in a "Carriage House," which overlooks a brick-paved garden courtyard and fountain. It's the perfect B&B for an exceptionally peaceful getaway.

The R. Bruce room is one of the Inn's finest and most romantic rooms. It's the perfect choice for a special weekend for two, and is our most requested room for anniversary getaways and honeymoons. Our star system does not denote hotel amenities but it does denote the level of our approval.

They were extremely helpful in suggesting various restaurants and their cocktail hour was lovely. Our stay at the Eliza Thompson house was the highlight of our stay in beautiful Savannah. We arrived a day earlier than expected due to a dismal weather forecast for the planned travel day, but when we called ahead, they were able to accommodate us in the same room. They won our hearts when we arrived tired and hungry after our eight-hour drive. When we got to our room, they had brought a tray of appetizers and a bottle of wine. For the rest of the stay, the staff were equally friendly and accommodating.
Guests who select the Courtyard Queen rooms enjoy Savannah wrought-iron balconies and garden views. The Telfair offers extra space for friends traveling together. Located on the ground level of the Main House, The Telfair is just steps away from Jones Street. Conveniently located near the Parlor, the Admiral Turner room has 12' ceilings, hardwood floors and soft gray decor and a lovely chandelier.
The inn is in a great location for walking old town Savannah. The Inn is located in a beautiful residential neighborhood - which allows walking to a few small shops and eateries. Their breakfast was delicious and served in their beautiful courtyard.
